2011 Police K-9 Trials

Deputy Kyle Pagerly and K-9 JynxDeputy Kyle Pagerly,Berks County Sheriff’s Department  was shot and killed while serving a warrant as part of a fugitive task force at a home on Pine Swamp Road inAlbanyTownship PA. When task force members arrived at the scene the suspect ran into the woods where he took cover in a sniper's nest at the top of a steep hill. Deputy Pagerly and his K-9 Jynx pursued the suspect. K-9 Jynx alerted Pagerly to the suspect.  The suspect opened fire with a rifle, striking Deputy Pagerly. Other officers returned fire and killed the subject.  After Deputy Pagerly was struck, K9 Jynx, tried to pull Kyle to safety by dragging him out of the line of fire. Deputy Pagerly was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. 

The Salisbury Township Police K9 Unit will be sponsoring and organizing a Police K-9 Trials with proceeds from this event donated to The Kyle Pagerly Memorial Fund.

The public is invited to attend as a spectator to watch K9s and handlers perform at their very best while supporting The Kyle Pagerly Memorial Fund
