Vanessa with LexiVanessa Getz came to Consummate K-9 to observe their methods of communication, handling, training techniques and learn more about K-9 behavior. She then took our 6-month Professional Trainers Course starting in May 2008. Vanessa excelled so quickly and has a natural ability to read dogs and communicate with people that we were pleased to have her join the Consummate K-9 Training team as our newest member in October 08.

She previously successfully completed the Bethlehem Townships Citizens Police Academy where demonstrations with their K-9 unit and basic knowledge and ability were brought to her attention. This experience is what set her on the path of a career working with K-9s. She believes obedience is a dog’s best friend and a lifesaver. The methods employed by The Monks of New Skete motivated her to find a training method that is a best fit for each individual owner and dog. These methods allow them to reach a level of control for a pleasant, fun, and stress free day-to-day life with their canine companions.

"But you said, don't get our paws wet!"Vanessa currently resides in Bethlehem with her husband John, Midori, a petite Russian Blue, and Alexis (a.k.a Lexi) a Belgian Malinois bred from Consummate K-9s Working Dog Division. Lexi will be trained in home and personal protection along with precision obedience and will be used as a demo dog to show the kind of control you can achieve while both owner and dog are having fun.
